Happ stifles former team, offense explodes again, in 10-2 win

On a cool, cloudy afternoon in The Bronx, the Yanks dominated the Blue Jays, 10-2, to close out a three-game sweep of their divisional foe. After a rough start to the week, the Yankees got back on track this weekend with the sweep of Toronto. In doing so, they closed out their home stand with a 4-3 record.

Yankees acquire Cody Asche from the Royals

Earlier today it was announced that the Yankees acquired Cody Asche from the Royals in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

Asche has experience playing third base, outfield, and has two career appearances at first base. He is a career .234/.293/.376 hitter in 1238 at-bats over a course of five seasons with the Phillies and White Sox.

This move is most likely a depth move, due to the massive injury bug that has affected the Yankees so far, this season. Expect the 27-year-old to report to Scranton or possibly replace Miguel Andújar on the major league roster, if the Yankees still want him to get every day at-bats in Triple-A.
